Looks have a little to do with initial attraction, but they wont take a guy very far. A short fat guy, with great personality, charm and self confidence will have much better luck with women than an above average looking doormat with no game. Same goes for money, cars, power, status, height and the long list of excuses, guys who have no luck with women, use to avoid looking in a mirror.

Girls wants guys who are taller then them period. It has been proven many times. Why would she go out with a short guy when she can find a tall guy? There is competition.

See, here is the thing. Women when they are single, often talk about what type of guy they are looking for, but end up falling for a complete opposite type of man. If you are observant enough, you would notice this. Besides, youre the one talking about height, its really a non issue, except for very few rare instances.
