i would not want some 'man' like that.
I have yet to find a man around here who would send his wife first. "Wake up honey...did you hear that window break?" "You hear the neighbors dog barking?" "Oh s***, you can hear boot heels crunching in the broken glass." "You go first honey". Let me ask this, would any of you really want to go first? Really?? Nah, no you don't.

I'm 6'2", over 300 lbs, a wrestling coach, and have many friends who are big names in the UFC (so I know how to land a punch). This is not an issue for me.

The safest place for you is in the bathtub with the door locked, flat, face down on the bedroom floor with the door locked or even better in the closet if there is room. You don't want to be standing up running around.

I ask this because I saw something on some talk show - I forgot which ones, and I can't seem to find the video on youtube again - about this small, shrimpy guy - maybe 5'4", who liked dating very big, tall women (6'2"+) because he liked to feel 'protected.' The crowd booed him, which shows society's disapproval of men like this. They are seen as cowards/wimps in society.
They ARE exceptions. And yes, a guy that wants to feel protected by his girl is a bit of a weirdo...so they are treated accordingly.

Yep. You really need to get out more. You'd know these things.

So everyone agrees that no matter how capable she is, how good she is at defending herself, she should never try to protect him?

That's not what was said, or what was asked. I believe most gals, seeing a loved one facing harm, would try to protect them. I don't know why you try to make things so black and white. They aren't.

I did imagine the majority would hold this view, but I thought logically speaking more people would be willing to go against the grain.
