I met my current BF at a volunteer meeting. I had given up all romance in my life! I thought he was a bit odd...and did not want to get too chummy. But he was very persistent.
It was pure chance. He is not my "type"...but it all works out just right.

No. He asked me out in very indirect manner for a long time...nothing as direct as "lets have dinner"....he worked up to that...he would say at the meeting..."wanna have some coffee?"...and I would assume he meant from the communal coffee pot, so I would usually say "no, I have some."....he was always friendly and chatty...he does not drive so he would ask me for a ride...no problem....we were going "out" for awhile until I realized we were "dating"....doh!
He was a regular poster on an online forum I moderated. We went from chatting on the boards to IMing, to talking on the phone. We met in person, and have been inseparable since. Five years and counting, have lived together for 4.5 of them.
He changed my wiper blades in the parking lot after he observed me not being able to reach one. Not still with the guy, but it was cute.
