It depends on what I'm looking for at the moment. If I'm just looking for a quick hookup (as in the same day), I usually opt for Onlinebootycall.com, but if I were to look for something serious, Match would probably be my first choice out of all the online sites.
I've tried a bunch. Match.com is ok - met some nice guys and had some success. eHarmony was unspeakably boring, but i suspect that is the point. However, I'm also not looking to get married, which is that site's main objective. OKCupid, I've had a profile up for the better part of a year, and I'm having a lot of fun. I like the freewheeling format and all the offbeat questions.
PlentyofFish just comes off as kind of skanky - like you're auditioning for a spot on Maury Povich or something...
I got an e-mail a month after my subscription to Match expired that someone had winked at me. I had inactivated my account but didn't delete it so I was able to find my profile. Showed I was active within 24 hours when I wasn't. Two months after it expired, I got an e-mail someone had sent me a message. Again, showed I was active within 24 hours. They keep profiles on hand for a year so who knows how many are truly active users.
eHarmony sent me two profiles in the same week for two different men who had all the same pictures. When I cancelled my account, I had two weeks left so I still checked out the matches they sent. I received yet another fake one-someone who was just way too good to be true-basically the male equivalent of me who was quick to respond to the back and forth, but not to my request for a picture and who disappeared when it was time for open communication and I still hadn't resubscribed.
I've heard mixed reviews from OKC and POF-the latest being that OKC rates your attractiveness and determines which profiles you see accordingly. Not sure if that's true or not though. I've given up on online dating since I wasn't having any luck with it-I was recently told I need to try it again and give it at least a year. I started asking around and discovered everyone I talked to who is online has been at it for a year or more. Plus, everyone I've ever dated, I've met when I wasn't trying so I'm going to stick to that.
for best king of the liars hats off goes to eharmony. 40% of male posters are married. more fake pics and profiles by ugly women than mcdonalds got hamburgers. its like the guy with the cardboard sign at the corner, if you got marxalot u can write anything on that cardboard u want.

Yeah, those sites are sneaky. I don't know about OKC and the whole attractiveness thing - I get QUITE a range of attractiveness in the guys who show up on my screen. Some guys are absolute trolls and some look like professional models; some, if they are to be believed, ARE professional models.
Yeah, I'm going to go with that option. Most of them require you to pay, and the ones that don't are not very good. I have tried out POF many times now and it is about as nerve-wracking as it gets. Here is a list of reasons why the site is a waste of time and why I will probably never go back to it. Keep in mind that my filter only showed girls ages 18-21 and that I live in the surburbs of Washington, D.C.
1) Most of the women on the site are looking for men that are out of their league. Your typical POF girl is going to be moderately overweight, which personally is not a deal breaker for me even though I'm in good shape. I was once overweight myself and I can understand that not everyone is going to able to shed the pounds like I did. What bothers me is that these women who are overweight and average-looking are expecting to date men who are super handsome, successful and stylish. Maybe they are just gold diggers, but it sure is annoying.
2) The girls are hard to talk to. I have talked to more girls on POF than I can remember, and almost none of the conversations went anywhere. A lot of times girls will message me and hardly have anything to say. Usually the hotter a girl is, the more of an air head she will be.
3) They post sexual pictures, yet get upset when guys make sexual comments. Don't go around with your DDs half-exposed if you don't want guys checking them out.
4) A large percentage of the women are single mothers looking for a guy who can be an instant father.
