How is that any different than she just is not into you? Why is it said like an acusation, like she did something wrong?
I think your being a little sensitive there. The term is not used to make women feel guilty. It's like somebody asking you out and you telling them you only like them as a friend when they seek a greater relationship. It's just a matter of fact term. Please don't find reasons to get upset when their are none.
There's nothing she did wrong. Guys are idiots for hanging around women who turn them down and think that somehow she's going to change her mind. Once a woman sees you in a "friend" of brother light, it's over

Why woudl you think I am upset? I asked a question. The tone which I have heard it used has sounded accusatory. I guess I was wrong.

Correct, unless a guy can reinvent himself by improving his looks drastically (losing a lot of weight, getting ripped, improving his skin care, getting a much better hair style, etc). If he can do that and a decent amount of time goes by, he can probably change her mind.

It's not. Some guys like to play it as if the woman is cruelly stringing them along when in reality she just doesn't like him like that. If he wants to be more than friends and he's hanging around hoping that she'll change her mind, that's on him, not on her.

Again Fleetie, you are looking for reasons to be upset by the term. It's just a silly term. Let's try this, if the next guy you know asks you out, don't say you only like him as a friend, tell him not only do you not want to date him but you don't want him as a friend either. Tell him that you want nothing to do with him ever again. This will stomp out the use of the term friend zone. Until then the term will continue to be used.
