Your average girlfriends, per your quote go for the good looking rich guy. So they're probably getting turned down or being used for sex. However, I wonder how many of your average looking friends are turning down average looking guys that are interested in your friends. You say the decent guys are only interested in the hot women but your average friends are interested in the hot guys. What's the difference? It's a vicious cycle you see.
No, a few of them go for the good looking men (rich is subjective... I don't live around a lot of rich people, and most are older, retired and married) and those are the cream of the crop ladies in my social circle. They're the ones that can walk into a bar and demand bottle service and get it with no issues whatsoever. I'd NEVER be able to do that. They are dating the good looking men and have them wrapped around their fingers.
My average friends aren't turning down average looking guys at all, in fact, many of them actively chase the average looking men but are turned down because they aren't 'hot'. Maybe where I live is different because more than 50% of the population is college age so there is a glut of hot, young, thin college coeds. Once you hit 25, you're an old maid and good luck finding a man who isn't in and out of jail, dealing drugs or smoking weed every day. The men my age ignore women their age and focus on the naive college girls because they're a dime a dozen.
From what I've observed, there are about 6 women trying to snag the 10% of men who are considered highly desirable. Unrealistic? Of course. Likely to be successful? Not a chance, for nearly all.
Incidentally, most highly desirable guys can keep about 6 "balls in the air", if they desire the variety and cannot find one who will do everything he desires. More and more, these guys think that there is therefore no need for marriage, further reducing these women's chances.
Before men were the buyers women were the sellers. It seems to be the other way around and growing these days.
See, I rarely experienced this with the majority of my girlfriends... there are a few who always go for the 'good looking rich guys', but most of my gals just want a decent man. Unfortunately, those decent men are only interested in the 'hot chicks' and completely ignore my average girlfriends.
There's actually a big debate going on in the gamer community regarding 'fake girl nerds', aka the hot chicks who pretend to be 'totally into video games!!!' because they're a big fish in a little pond in the community. They're considered 6s in the real world, but 9s at ComiCons. Unfortunately for women like me, the nerdy gamer guys that I'm interested in go after these girls (ya know, the ones that dress up like slave Leia during cons but have never actually seen Star Wars) and completely ignore the ones who are ACTUALLY into games/sci fi etc. because HOT CHICKS.
There are plenty of gals out there who are interested in genuinely good guys, but I've found that these good guys are also only attracted to really good looking women who will inevitably use them and toss them aside when a better guy comes along. I'm probably just rambling right now because of a debate I had with a male friend who complains constantly about girls being '*******' and never being interested in him when I know for a fact that there are plenty of girls into him right now that he won't give the time of day to because they aren't 'hot' enough for him. He's not exactly a looker either... but thinks he deserves a model.
So... I guess what I'm saying is open your eyes and look around. Or move to a place where everyone's broke, like where I live

Your average looking friend should move to the east coast it might be better for them in finding a suitable handsome guy who is also juggling other indenpendent unattractive women.

Certainly, both sexes have their share of fault.
However, despite what the women say on here, most guys are fairly realistic about their prospects. They may want a bombshell when under 20, but soon enough, they will realize that they have no chance whatsoever and set their sights lower. When they get to that point, what they are looking for is someone who has it together. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of women who qualify.
In contrast, a majority of women have an easy time attracting the temporary interest of hot guys. They can offer sex and many desirable men will feint interest to get this. Even one such experience will delay a woman's interest in constructive settling for 2 years. Those who do a lot of this are likely to suddenly find they are 37 and afraid that their time to have a family is running out. Few can then find the average, decent men, with prospects, anymore.

Lots of older men never has it like that when they were younger. As they get older they find more women wanting them solely because of the fact that she's getting old and wants to raise a family, as her standards lower, he's a weary of the fact of her desires and some men would rather be alone then be labeled here final destination.
