No, I'm not a believer in "the one God has for you", the "one", perfect match, etc. I think there are people who are best left single.

Aww, Dissenter! Just you wait--10 years from now, when you're up to your neck in work, and you're least expecting it, someone will appear out of nowhere and will rock your world. You won't know what hit you. She'll be an irresistible force. Just don't forget to drop us a line when that happens.

Eh, in reality there are many people that share those same traits!

And the Soul Mate and One and Only idea is not really true. It just goes with all of the Fairy Tales we have been brought up on. In reality there are many people who we would be a good match with.

Default Do you think there is someone for everyone?

Nope.

For 99%+ of the world's population, there are multiple people out there that would be great matches for them. That includes certain people on this forum who seem to have low self-esteem and insecurity issues, although they may have to improve themselves to bolster their desirability.

However, I think there is a tiny segment of people out there who are so screwed up that they would be better off never having and settling down with a partner...and they probably need to be in a mental institution and not interacting with normal society.

Well, of course there are. It just so happens that we find ones who are not, and cannot understand the way we are. This can be anyone.

My actual true personality has been suppressed for longer than it has been shown. I have had to be a person I am not in order to please another, and now, that is not the case.

I was not brought up on a fairy tale, btw.

Sure, many people share those traits. I haven't met many in the African American community, though.

And I was not brought up on fairy tales, neither. Far from it.

LOL, yeah, my dad is one of 'em. He's admitted as much to me. Currently in a 15-year open relationship with a woman who is also doing a service to the community by remaining single. The best part? They're both ultra-conservative Republicans.

Life is weird.

Not many in 'RL' get me. It sometimes makes life difficult. Almost as though I see things differently, feel things differently.

People don't understand my quirkiness and I am finally ok with that. I am finally ok to be the me I am supposed to be! =)

It sure is nice to have someone who can understand that silly girl.......
