A girl I worked with, also worked part time where my DH worked. She had a New Years Eve party and invited both of us. He followed me home to make sure I got home safely. Two days later, he sent me a huge bouquet of flowers. He put on the big push, and treated me with more care and consideration than I had ever known. We got married six months later, and that was 33 years ago.
My husband truly is a good guy... even at the worst of times, he's genuinely good hearted and all-around great man. AND we met at... wait for it... a BAR! He actually "saved" me from a not-so-nice guy who wouldn't leave me alone! That was over 8 years ago, and we've been married just over 3. So yes... they can be found in bars!
(To be fair, we did have mutual friends... but so did Mr. Not-so-Nice and I, so I don't think it counts in this situation.)
We met at a college mixer. We went to adjoining colleges. We danced...we talked, we dated and we married. Been married, happily, a long time. He's a great guy, my best friend. I try to be his, too.
