It was in Cracked of all places. This pretty much encapsulates the advice found in all those pathetic "Why can't I find someone/Women want bad boys/Women want men who make lots money" threads.

This reminds me of the type of coach who you find motivating, vs. the type of coach you'd like to run over with a steamroller. I think this speech was a parody of the fanatical capitalist/Gordon Gekko type. Don't know if Mamet meant it that way but that's how I took it. Baldwin did a great job, he's great in everything. But it wouldn't motivate me-opposite effect.

People tend to have that reaction to those who dispense difficult truths.

I just read it, and believe that if you take out the swear words (shock value), you are left with a lengthy collection of boring anecdotes and psychobabble.
Am I missing something?

If you can't find a date on Saturday night, you are.

Oh please. This is so condescending. You are just assuming because someone can't get a date, he's a loser. Some guys have a decent job, work out every day, are in good shape, and still can't get a date. Guys can't get women because it's hard to get women. One can have a lot of good qualities and still have trouble attracting a mate.

To get a woman, you have to have more than the bolded facts going for you. The bolded is the bare minimum requirements to get in on the ground floor, the stuff that is going to help you ascend is your personality, how you treat her, how interesting you are. If you have a solid personality to go along with the minimum requirements, you will probbaly find at least some success with women.
