I know a lot of us are clueless when someone is hitting on you. I know this is true for me.
How often do you get "free" stuff from members of the opposite sex. This includes:
drinks at the bar
free food at a restaurant
free tickets to events
discounts (ok this isn't free but the same idea)
I don't go to bars much anymore, so "free drinks" are a rare thing for me. But this weekend, I apparently racked up. Not sure if it was flirting or what, so I thought I'd ask everyone else how often this sort of thing happens. (My usual pattern is more like 1X a week)
1. free half sandwich and dessert at a cafe (I ordered a half sandwich, and left with $10 worth of extras)
2. free dessert (the waiter just dropped it off at our table, we don't know why)
3. free drinks from some 60-something married guys at the bar (eating dinner at the bar)
4. free herbs at a cafe (I was chatting about my plans to make a tomato salad for dinner, and then the worker handed me a bunch of basil to use)
I am sometimes offered goodies at my favorite restaurants and places I frequent often. I accept them as their appreciation for my business.
I was offered, but I would not accept them from strangers / patrons ( except that was an form of advertising available for public ).
A friend of mine bought me a beer Friday..but that's only because I bought him one last week
Someone did scan their Petco card because I left mine at home, but it was a middle aged woman so I doubt she was into me, I think she was just trying to move the line along.
I really can't remember the last time I received anything for free that wasn't from a family member...my last date was dutch, the one before it I paid.

Ugh. You mean a guy took a beautiful girl like you out on a date and let you pay? So sad. You are better off without this guy. You can do better.
