Kids have off from school on Wed...and I'm taking them apple picking!!!!

My husband thinks I'm nuts...lol, the orchard is about 3.5 hours from our house (google maps...I can prob get there in 3 ).

I can't wait!!! Haven't done that in years, since we've moved down here. Apple pie, apple butter, apple crisp, applesauce...wooo hooo!

Edit...forgot apple cake, fried apples...lol.

I feel like Bubba in Forest Gump

Hmmmm, I think I might just plan an open-house apple-fest for my friends and neighbors! Watch out MARTHA! lol

I don't get people lining up to buy a product.

Nothing scream sheeple to me as much as that does.

Be good little consumers... take it all, be spoon fed the crap that the media sells....

Run down the cattle chute......

Just my opinion, of course....

I'm making stromboli and pasta fagioli tonight. I really don't feel like cooking though. I'd be happy with a cracker.

It's supposed to be fall and it's 88 with highish humidity.

Carnitas and home made pico de gallo for dinner tonight.

Sorry, but I likes my pigs.......

Oink, Oink!

I made one stromboli with pepperoni and the other with mushroom and spinach. The soup calls for bacon but I subbed turkey bacon. Compromise is key in this house, especially if I'm the one cooking it!

I know you're always on the diet treadmill.

Have you looked into lower carb diets, things like Atkins or South Beach.

When I watched the refined carbs, I seem to lose weight much quicker/better than watching my fat intake.

I don't really eat a whole lot of carbs or fat...it's more about the calories for me (tonight was the exception with carbs...though I just had the soup).

Right now it's just my crappy thyroid function. 1200-1300 calories maintains my weight for now...but if I slip backwards again I'd start gaining weight. Once I get regulated I won't be riding this yo-yo. We've actually discussed either killing it with radioactive iodine or removing it. I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet though.
