This new couple was almost hit by a tree branch. In this short clip, we see the husband run from the falling branch. He did not look back for his wife or help her. He did not cover her, he did not try to save her, he ran.
Luckily, this split second thinking was the best approach. Or does this clip say something else. Will this couple make it? Be divorced in 5 years? Or was this simply great thinking?
Okay after seeing the video, it seems like the fight or flight instinct kicked in. Lucky they chose flight. Nothing worth getting divorced over, though.
Hard to say. On one hand, there was likely the initial adrenaline induced reaction to run. Given another quarter of a second for the brain to process consequences, he might have grabbed her hand and pulled her away. From what I could see, honestly, if he did NOT move immediately, she'd have nowhere to run to and would have been hit.
Seems like they acted in tandem. That bodes well for a marriage. If she were waiting for him to “rescue” her, she’d be dead. These days married people need to cultivate practicality and common sense to survive.
I wasn't aware that the success of today's marriages is predicated on how one or the other partner acts instinctively in an emergency. Another reason I'm happy to be single because I doubt I could pass that little social test.
He should have continued to just sit their in the way of his wife’s escape or thrown her in to the camera, That would have really shown how much love he has.
Yeah, he had to get up and run so she could get up and run. If he had thrown himself over her, they would have both been hurt. If he had "waited" for her, she wouldn't have known to run. It seems totally like the right thing to do. How do you do anything different in a blink of an eye?
