Gosh I hope you're kidding. I had a guy I was newly dating offer this when I was sick, when I said "(hell), no", he figured I was off with other guys.

No dude. I'm SICK. Which means I look like hell, feel like hell, and don't want to play host.

(which is odd in hindsight. When my husband and I started dating I was sick and our 2nd date was spent on the couch with bronchitis and codeine)

I know when I don't feel like doing something because I am just too tired or not feeling well I will tell the person the truth. I would laugh if I knew they doubted me with no reason to. Basically, sometimes you can't assume that a person is lying to you. You just have to give them the benefit of the doubt and work from there.
