No, you know your own mind. Don't waste your time or theirs. If they aren't good pet owners they may not be good parents or anything else that are important attributes in a relationship.
That is very true! One of the men didn't have any self respect in his personal appearance either. The untamed dog was the final dealbreaker.

However, dogs shed. I noticed in your list of complaints about dogs, it was mostly about a lack of training and control... but you also mention shedding, which is not really something anyone can prevent. You can brush a dog daily and they'll still shed. You also ask if pets are a deal breaker, not untrained pets, which suggests it's not just the lack of training that bothers you. I don't blame you for expecting a dog owner to have trained their dog but it does sound like you maybe also just don't like dogs. If that's the case then yes, pets should be a deal breaker for you.
That's the issue I'm trying to figure out - my brother has two incredibly sweet rottweilers, that I absolutely adore being around. My other friend has a shih tzu that is the cutest, cuddly Ewok. I guess it depends on the dogs and the owners. I think when it comes to living on a daily basis, it would be fair to surmise I am not a pet person. Cats are worse IMO.

I prefer if a woman doesn't have any pets and doesn't ever want them, but it's not dealbreaker unless she has a weird pet or a larger dog, or has a weird obsession with them. Cuts down the dating pool, but what are you gonna do.

I am happy to hear there are men out there that feel this way. Better to be a little lonely and happy than to be irritated by someone's messy, untrained pet!

Default Never was for me.

I love animals and have had a few in my time as well. As long as it's not a vicious large dog that i will have to have have my guard up around it never was even a thought. My GF has an adorable cat who is cute even when he gives her a hard time about staying off the kitchen table.

You are far more animal tolerant than I am. That would never be ok in my house. But then, I just don't like cats. To each their own.

My dogs are like my children. They are very smart and loyal. I live in a not so great area. Whenever I go outside, the alpha protector is always by the door watching my back. There are times I know someone is near me because she starts barking.

I had someone try to mug me and a long time ago, an ex gf was attacked going to her car at night.

So if someone doesn't like my dogs, they can go to hell. I'd save my dogs before most human beings and I am very protective of them.

I love animals and am a slave to my brat cat (by choice) but I don't like people with a-hole dogs. I once went to this guys house who lived in a very nice condo building. He had an English bulldog that would basically rape my leg and he did nothing to get the dog off me. Finally I was like "UMMM put your dog away!" so what did he do?? Stuck him on the balcony where the dog barked for an hour straight at 10pm. I then said "umm are you going to stop your dog from barking so you don't disturb your neighbors???" I mean WTF. I never saw him again. I don't like people who have pets that have no consideration for their neighbors

I am a huge dog lover, and love animals in general. So, I would typically like it if someone I met liked animals, espescially dogs. I will ALWAYS own dogs.

However, what the OP described would be a pain. I would not like it if someone did not properly control their pet, because I am quite anal about that. I love dogs, and like being around them more than kids.

However, they dont lay on my furniture, sleep in my bed, bathe in my tub, beg for food at the table, etc etc. Im quite anal when it comes to that. They dont jump on me, and they damn well best listen to me. LOL I have been into dogs for years, and I know how to train and handle them, so bad behavior in my pets is not an issue. Plus, I prefer to be the one handling them anyway, so my SO would really not have to do a thing with my dogs if he didnt want to.

Ugh I HATE people like that. As big a dog lover as I am, I HATE..HATE..people who do not control their dogs. I hate going on walks with my dog who are ALWAYS leashed and under my control, and have some ding dong with his unleashed dog running up barking at us.

I also hate my neighbor's stupid dog that they let run loose up and down the street half the day, and all he does is wander around and stand and bark at people like an idiot. He is not vicious, but more than annoying because he wanders in peoples yard, and just stands in middle of street barking at cars, etc. I live on a dead end street, so the idiot is lucky he hasnt been run over yet as nobody really speeds down my street or anything.
