Loving yourself may be realizing that you are not cut out for marriage.
I don't think most people should marry in today's world. To do so successfully and happily takes a certain kind of personality that's not all too pervasive in our society. If it weren't for my husband I would not be one of them either, but his light hearted, easy going nature makes our marriage easy.

Nope. First, people that don't want marriage find that their checklist, reasonable or unreasonable, has not been met. Second, people see the realities of being married in their friends.
Within the last two years, my friend told me that his wife, who I hated anyway, physically abuses their young kids. It was the perfect exit for me. Because they're already in counseling for it, the shrink knows, so I didn't need to call Child Protective Services, or whatever that agency is named.

I don't get why the pro-marriage people think everyone should be married, or why the anti-marriage people think everyone shouldn't get married. Why can't everyone just do what they want? In the end the pro-marriage people end up together and the anti-marriage people end up together and everyone's happy.
