It would be better for them in the long run though.

Just what is the long run? We are talking about divorce in our senior years. Everyone's kids are long grown and gone, as it should be. I stated before that so many Boomers may have been divoriced several time over 50 years, so divorce at retirement seems natural. Then when,,? first, I say If posable not till the kids are pre teens.I know we can not plan these things feelings and time have no bounds.. I was just making a statement regarding those early years when so many of us got married way too early, I was no exception. I regret not waiting until my one and only child was a little older than 5. The end result has not been a good one in my case. We all can change our marriages at will , that is as it should be if for nother reason than we a people change as we grow. The children have no choices.........

In my parents case it made sense when they did finally make the cut. We were all close to being grown up and thet were like siblings more than husband and wife. They still loved each and they both admit it to this day, they just weren't compatible as a husband and wife.

I was just saying it would much better if everyone divorced earlier. Allowing the situation to carry on is worse than the situation itself.

No doubt , after say 35 years with the same women its hard to make a change. WE can feel trapped in the relationship when the love goes away, you are very frustrated as each other has grown to depend on won another for so many things,. That does not mean all those years life was wasted, just that over time we all change, want different things as examples. My ideal would be to go to the end with the right woman, at 72 time is a preciousness.we can not afford to waste. Its a problem, I am sure I am not alone...
