Actually, maybe it's because I'm in California, but my area is about equal. Both men and women each total 600+. Most of these people seem interesting and trustworthy enough but not really my type after reading their profile.

If you live in a highly populated area you will get 600+ listings, even for women. But there still is at least 2X more total profiles in the system from men.
But overall there are more women then men, what can be the problem?
The problem is, that 80% of available women sleep with 15-20% of most desirable men. Despite what they may tell you, its perfectly ok, if the man is sleeping with a different woman every night. This leaves 80+% of single guys going home alone and scratching their heads. Hope this helps.

That is such nonsense. If you have model-like looks, and put up a new profile, maybe...MAYBE, you might get 50 in a day. And that might last a week...if you are lucky.
Any theories on WHY there is such a surplus of ads from men on dating sites? My guess is that it is generally easier for women to meet men in real life. They get hit on all the time.
Good looking women get hit on all the time. Men are much more likely to whistle or cat-call at a girl walking by. Women don't do this...at least it would be a rare one that did. So, give this knowledge (which should be common knowledge, right?)....men will hit on attractive women, or even women that have pretty hair and a nice figure....a lot. What is wrong with you people that you do now know this?? Are you really this sheltered?
