If you tend to joke around in real life, is that a good idea to do on a dating profile? I wouldn't say anything political or offensive or scary of course. I have more of a dry, goofy, observational or self deprecating sense of humor. The way I see it, is that answering all the questions seriously is really boring and I see people write a lot of the same stuff. I often am a mix of serious and funny in real life, so that would be the most accurate way of representing myself. I realize not everyone would appreciate it, but then they may not like it in real life also, so it's a filter.
If you include anything remotely humorous on a dating profile you will never gate a date, and will likely be kicked off of the site.
Seriously. Is it any wonder that people have trouble with relationships?
I asked the questions (and poll) because I was wondering if too much humor is a bad thing, like they may assume I am not taking the site seriously. I don't have "relationship troubles" normally, but I haven't done a dating profile in several years.
If a guy's profile can make me laugh out loud I will email him first. I love funny guys! And I get sick of reading the same crap over and over again...I like it when guys stand out by being funny, even sarcastic.
I LOVE a sense of humor in a man. The only problem is that sometimes humorous "tone" does not come across the right way in writing. Let an honest friend read it before you post it to see how it really comes across.
To me, the only ones who don't seem to take it seriously are the ones who refuse to answer most of the questions or won't fill out stuff to let you know something about them.
