Um, okay so men are never picky? yep, that's why 60 year old men contacted me instead of women their age and why men my age date women in their 20's. Or obese men only want slim woman.
I do not know the answer but this in the #1 reason most are unhappy with dating sites.
As a male reading profiles, it feels like I am reading a demand list.
Then I look at the pictures and there is a big disconnect.
I always hear this little voice in my mind saying "why respond?" Only George Clooney would respond the this one .
But no he would not becasue he would look at photos and say "she would be too much work"

You are entirely correct, OP. Most people don't think a lot about how to sell themselves - they only think about what they want without considering if it's realistic or possible.
I can't figure out what happened since I met my wife 40 years ago, but things have really changed. I had very little money to spend, as I was a graduate student. Our first date was a bicycle ride in a local park. She had the car and job. But we fell in love and wanted to get married, so I quit school, finally got a good job and we both worked hard all these years and built a life together and had some kids. But she never got treated like a princess, and I was not her slave or her doormat.
FF to today. Now it seems that a lot of women think of themselves as a prize, a treasure, and that guys should fall all over them and lavish them with dinners and presents, and swear undying love and devotion to always make them happy. Its as though the purpose men were put on this earth was to serve them. That's not an attitude that will make for a happy relationship that will last, and many will find themselves old, alone and unloved, except maybe by their dog.
