I wasn't always religious and in my 20's I was more open sexually, of which I am now ashamed. I have often been the aggressor in the past because I often attracted shy men.

OP, it's pointless to feel ashamed of your past. You can't change it. A LOT of people were promiscuous at some point or other, it's nothing to feel badly about.
