Online dating profiles are meant to attract other people, but I have noticed some people put some really bizarre and outlandish things in their profile that would make an awful lot of people not want to message them. I know some people want to narrow their search but some profiles make people seem really creepy and almost undesirable.
Dude, you've been on these boards for a while. You know that a lot of the people who say outlandish and offputting stuff here think THEY are the normal ones and the rest of us are the warped individuals. It's the same on the dating sites. I'm just thankful that those folks are honest so that I can run screaming in the opposite direction.
Got a message from a GREAT guy the other day. He says he spends a lot of time thinking about why no one responds to him in the personal essay part, and then I read further into his "Questions" section... Only to find that he thinks its acceptable to pose as his SO or read her email because there shouldn't be any secrets, would sleep with his friends wife if he knew he could get away with it, doesn't believe in STD testing and would never allow his SO to go out to dinner with a former ex. The utter lack of self awareness was quite sublime, I thought.
I have a POF account and I finally gave up on finding a date after never getting any replies or dumb replies to my messages, so I just switched my profile up in hopes of getting a laugh or two from people. I find it hillarious, but maybe some people will think it's serious and find me crazy. I don't really care though because who was responding to me before? Anyways, I hope they like my profile headline, "The right woman knows the scent of my farts" and my hobbies, "Kicking dogs, huffing stale milk jugs, throwing chinese stars at balloons, kicking the school books out of a child's hands, drinking beer aka butt chugging"......lol....I think it's funny, who cares what anyone thinks, I gave up on trying on that site anyways.

POF is about 75% men in my zip code. Those 75% men are almost universally looking for the hottest woman they can land, and she is in great shape (slender), has a nice face, and nice hair. Job? who cares. Kids? irrelevant.
And women who meet that criteria make up about 10% of the women on there. Some of those 10% are fake ads to attract more men, which in turn attracts more women.
Those 75% men are in dire competition for that tiny minority of women. Those 90% women are in dire competition for those men. And that tiny minority of women who have tons of options and are in very high demand....yeah. They can put anything they want on their dating profile. Like "if you are two hump chump, keep clicking. If you are looking for pump and dump....pass me by...."
Welcome to the laws of supply and demand. I assume you failed economics 101.

I don't think this is bizarre at all. I think it's straightforward though. Some people like that and some don't. I personally like people being real and not restraint in what they have to say, it makes it easier to weed people out instead of trying to spend so much wasted energy figuring them out.
A few thoughts about the thing you say on line .
they are a matter of PUBLIC RECORD.
If you cut your finger off does grow back ,ever ? no .
Stupid stuff you say on line is like girls that pose nude and then years later meet some ideal guy and things are going great, and one of his buddies recognizes her picture and prints it for him .
That immage is perminant.
If he is a decent guy, and does not approve of the porn, nor can afoard that association in his life and family ,(money can be a very powerful deal breaker ) it is likely that relationship would end .
For your information . it become standard procedure to require the face book access for human resources to examine a potential employee.
And nasty things you say about others will put a fear of affiliation with you. A justifiable means of turning you down.
That is their job , to protect the company interests .
