This is just something I thought about watching "Homeland" season 1. This is just a hypothetical question. Don't be alarmed guys, lol.

I just figured since a 12 year old and 15 year old dating was ok and legal. Then 3 years later it would still be ok and legal.

I think the initial time of relationship should play a part. Its not like a child was tricked by an 18 year old. They both were kids when they started dating.

I would have had a huge problem with my daughter dating (let alone anything else!) a 15 year old when she was 12. Three years is too much of an age difference when they are that young. And she wouldn't have been dating an 18 year old when she was 15 either.

It's NOT OK.

I'm guessing you are not a parent.

Yeah, i'm not a parent. Ok, so its not a ok. But its legal right?

If its legal during that time, it should be legal 3 years later, no?

No.

I'm afraid, good sir, that I would choke the life out of an 18 year old that was having sex with my 15 year old daughter. Better to just make it illegal for him to do so, and save me from jailtime.

But...yeah. No. One is in a totally different level of maturity then the other at that point.

NO IT IS NOT LEGAL.

Research the laws on the "age of consent." Most US states set their age of consent between 16 and 18.

You cannot legally have sex with a 12-year-old whether you're 13, 14 or 15. In the eyes of the court, a 12-yr-old is a CHILD.

NOT LEGAL

NOT OK

This same exact situation actually happened to a friend of mine that I grew up with lol. It was funny because he was mad nervous that his girlfriend's parents would tell them they couldn't see each other when he turned 18 but when he did, her parents didn't even care. They knew that they were sexually active but I think since they had been together for so long, it wasn't really anything either parents were afraid of thinking about.

Lol. I know tons of girls I grew up with who lost their virginity as early as 11.
