There are TON of guy profiles that have:
- my best friend met their SO on here, so I thought I'd give it a shot
- my friends would call me honest / loyal / (name some random redeemable trait)
- I like the outdoors but can cuddle up on the couch to a good movie or warm fireplace
- I want a fun, sexy, witty girl
Ok ... Not all of you guys are exactly the same, are you? Because, I seriously have seen about 100+ profiles that all basically say the same exact thing.
I've noticed this too, that a majority of profiles a very generic. The trick it to show who you are, not say who you are.
I met my SO via online dating. We've been together almost 1.5 years, and it looks like we're in it for keeps.

I've had horrible luck with the ones I've used (Match, POF, OKC)
Then again, I'm also incredibly unattractive and have a difficult time writing anything that might make my profile somewhat appealing to anyone of the opposite sex, so take from that what you will.
Nope. I met a nice guy who would be a perfect match if he lived closer (or open to moving)and 10 years older (we stay in touch as friends)and a guy who didn't feel chemistry with me and that is the extent of it. The rest were just too bizarre, from the misogynist men who felt women should obey the husband and stay at home to cook and clean, from the the perverts just looking for sex, to the men who contacted me though they didn't fit what I was seeking (dads, older than my dad, etc), to the married men and the men who contacted me to attack what I was seeking and the clingy men who thought because I didn't contact them right away I was mad at them, to the fruitcakes who thought we were a couple because we met once.
I hate online dating and will only consider it again if this guy and I don't end up together and I decide I am desperate. Otherwise, I am fine being alone and prefer that to dealing with 90% of the men I chatted with online.
Isn't a cat better than VD, pregnancy or a restraining order?
