A guy I went out with a couple of times told me he is busy and it's not a good time due to the holidays coming up. Is this guy being serious or is it a blow off?

This seems like another one of those "hey, guys, can you read my former date's mind for me?" topics. But in view of the fact that the holidays are still almost two weeks away, I'd say it's a blow off. Whether it is or not, you pretty much have no choice but to wait and see if he contacts you after the holidays. I wouldn't count on that happening. Best to move on.

i see it as a blow off not to buy u gifts fosho..
i actually read 1 poster here do exactly that. he says he breaks it off before the holidays so he wont spend his money on gifts and the 1 exception was because he loves the girl's family cooking so he stayed so he can eat for free for holidays or something like that.
If a guy really likes you then I think he will make time even if it's just a quick lunch or drink...I have never been too busy to make some time for someone I really like even if I'm slammed busy. But who knows...I guess you'll find out if he calls after the holidays, but I definitely wouldn't sit by the phone waiting.

True. Holiday excuse is a ploy. I would try and make time even if it was just lunch. Sometimes it's just a ploy to leave you on the line, while they tend to someone they feel a better attraction with. I've only seen this with online dating. I never seemed to stumble into this problem when dating someone I met out and about.
One of the (male) posters on here shared recently how he'd always stop dating just before Thanksgiving, and stay out of the game until after Valentine's Day.
Principally so he didn't have to buy anyone a gift.
The only exception was a really "hot" girl whose family made really good tamales, he stuck with her through the holiday season (lucky her) for the food.
I am not kidding. This is how some men think.
They only do what works for them, and in this case, catching up with you during the holidays does not work for this guy.
Seriously, what does that tell you? Do you REALLY need us to fill you in?
