I'm visiting my parents for a little while and thought I'd sign up for the online dating website here. This summer I signed up and was receiving close to 10 messages per day. I'm signed up here and have only received one message from an ugly pregnant girl (yes, she had a pregnancy pic up).
Do people tend to date more in the summer than around holidays?
I've actually received quite a few messages this winter, but that could be because of my change in locale.
When I was in CA though, it slowed waaaaay down in the summer. Most guys were out hanging at the beach leering at women in bikinis. No time for online dating
Interesting, maybe it has to do with the holiday season around now or something. Even searching, it seems like there's no good looking women that have been using the site recently
I would think the opposite, but it could depend on the location. If it's cold where you are, online dating should pick up because no one wants to venture outside too much but when summer comes, websites goes by the wayside because everyone's outside. So, I'm kind of surprised that no one's biting at this time of year.
Also, maybe it's the holidays? People are flying cross-country to see family and friends, so that may be another reason online dating is not as important right now.

I have high standards... but at the same time I don't think my standards are above me by any means. I went out on a lot of dates over the summer without any problems. I even had a girlfriend for a while.
Now it seems like it's dead. I think it must be the holidays, especially because everyone seems to be agreeing that it picks up more in the winter.
I've seen a pickup through the holidays, actually...
Jeeze, for me it has been two days, I've sent 6 messages and have only received one response and I just received it about 45 mins ago.
If this keeps up I think I'm going to start some threads about how I hate women
