I often debate with myself when sending out resumes - am I better off removing all references to college?

For a guy with low income (<$20K) is an online dating profile better to omit mention of college, or would that be dishonest and the wrong thing to do?

Are you a college student?

Not at any time in a number of years.

I don't see any reason to mention it then.

Don't lie.

I respect guys who can be honest.

It's more cowardly to lie. I respect someone who's proud to be who he really is.

Money has nothing to do with who you are as a person. Lying does.

Wouldn't that be like writing off all women who went to college, and limiting your opportunities to women who didn't go to college?

Who cares if you say it or not? Most women aren't dumb enough to write off a guy for if he went to college or not. Most women will judge a guy for other reasons.

Put whatever you want on there, if you're already out of college you should have more than what you did for college to talk about.

If someone is dumb enough to think that a college degree is any indicator of success.. would you honestly want to be around them?

Going to college is no guarantee of making a high income these days. However, if you went, it is an accomplishment and speaks to your education level regardless of your current job or wage. I am not sure what is gained by omitting it.

OP, you're so focused on the "specifics" you're missing the point- who gives a rat's @ss how a girl perceives you.

It's so illogical to think someone would like you more/less if you had a college degree.

If a woman had a college degree and judged you based on your degree, then her credentials tell me she doesn't even have half a brain to put two things together to formulate possibilities and deeper insight. So dumb.

Get over the degree crap. But, you're only rejecting yourself by lying.

Continue to lie to others and yourself. Your need to please behavior will turn any woman off much faster than your lack of college degree or less than 20K income. (believe me, if someone loves you they work on building your life 'together' as a couple instead of judging you for what you don't have- a good litmus test to sizing up on a person's loyalty- hint hint).

Why would you think that? I never mentioned my degree in my profile, other than the little check boxes that indicate how much education you have (and that was on match....I don't know if the others ask that).
But I see no reason to discuss college in the text of your profile, unless you are currently attending.
