Has anyone had a relationship like what's outlined in the movie The Notebook?
Because I want that. And I need to know that there's a shred of hope for me!
Damn Rachel McAdams is friggin' sexy.
I saw that tonight on TV. Please don't believe for a minute that a real relationship is anything like that. That's why it's called "fiction."

It's awful. I only sat through it because I was outlining some work and I came to appreciate Gena Rowlands after seeing her in Hysterical Blindness. But I should have known better. It's based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, who has to be one of the sappiest, most ridiculously cliched writers of our time. I'd rather read a Harlequin/Silhouette romance, or even an old Barbara Cartland story, than slog through that crap--which is saying a lot because if I'm voluntarily going to read a romance and actually enjoy it, it's at least going to have pirates, a heroine who sleeps with whoever she finds most useful, and a whole lot of ripped bodices. (See: Jennifer Wilde--who was really a man, BTW--and Rosemary Rogers.)
So many little things bugged me about the film that I literally find it to be unwatchable. But I have to start with Rachel McAdams being average looking and the James Marsden character being more of an attractive package than Ryan Gosling.
