I heard on the radio that things like FB can be unhealthy for married couples.. I can see both sides of this, befriending someone of the opposite sex who your SO doesn't know even more so if they are attractive. Anyone ever had any problem with their So & the internet? My ex met her current SO online after she swore she would never do such a thing. Her BF before she met me he had cheated on her with some girl from some single site. Go figure!
It can be, but it doesn't have to be. I think that too many people blur the lines between fantasy and reality, and that manifests itself in our online lives. When it reaches a point that one neglects his or her real world life, family, and responsibilities, then it has become a bad thing in that person's life. But many people are perfectly capable of keeping it all compartmentalized, have their online contacts or forums, but still have a perfectly healthy and avid life in the real world.
Social networking and the internet in general make it easier for people to cheat, but I think most of those people would have found some way to cheat without the internet.

If someone has jealousy or suspicions based merely on someone their spouse "friended" on facebook, I suspect there are much deeper trust issues in the marriage.
The internet can provide temptations for many things, and make them more easily accessable than they were pre-internet. However, a cheater will be a cheater whether or not they are online.

People that have issues using the internet without compromising their integrity are no different than people that have problems maintaining their integrity. Period. Internet has nothing do to do with. Those people will F* up no matter what.

I would have a hard time "friending" someone on Facebook if I couldn't look my SO straight in the eye and honestly explain who he was. I would hope this mythical SO would have the same respect for me.
I think it is a great way to reconnect with people. I am FB friends with an ex from high school. We occasionally like and comment on each other's posts, pictures and wish each other a happy birthday, but we've never exchanged messages beyond that.
