Okay, so the title doesn't really explain it.

I contacted a girl on OK Cupid a few weeks ago. Turns out we actually know each other (from a few years back, through a mutual friend) and have actually met before.

We were messaging back and forth for awhile, and planned to meet up sometime. I was traveling for work for these last two weeks, so I went to get back in contact with her to get her number and plan something. Anyways, it looks like she deleted her profile.

I know who she is and since we have mutual friends, I have the ability to send her a facebook message---question is, would that, in your all opinions be OK or not?

Sure.

She may have deleted her profile because she met someone.

Oh jeeze, yes message her. If she doesn't answer, then you'll know.

I would say no. She's deleted her profile for a reason. (And I think it's borderline creepy to message people on FB that you are not friends with. )

It may not go through anyway. I do believe the settings on that can be "friends list only"

Who knows what they changed it to this week though. LOL

Sure. Send her a friend request. If she accepts your friend request, send her a version of the message below.
Mention that you were sorry to see her profile deleted and were still hoping that you could stay in contact.
If she doesn't respond, perhaps she met someone during your absence. Other than that I would not push it.

What have you got to lose? But it seems odd that you already knew each other yet confined your messaging to the site system and didn't friend up or exchange cells earlier.

You could give it a try or maybe just send her a friend request and see if she accepts it. It she doesn't even accept your request then you'll know for sure she is not interested in talking.
