The things you can do with money is limitless...
You could go to tokyo, paris, check out soe car shows, game shows, go to a basketball games, baseball game, football game, buy a 30 inch tv to watch the game, throw a big bbq invite family, make a family trip to disney world, go on a road trip, camping, fishing, buy a boat, buy a yacht, go on a cruise, go to jamaica, the bahamas, hawaii, stay in a 5 star hotel, go to a top of the line club, go to the casino, go to a magic show, dance show, go to E3, go to san diego, go to nascar, visit any musuem, the list goes on and on and on....
This is why people who win the lottery usually spend it all in just a few years. Many go bankrupt. It's also reminiscent of the "free money" days of the home equity line of credit before the bubble burst in Southern California. People were buying big screen TVs and RVs and boats and going on vacation. Happy happy happy!
I can't believe some people actually say this. I must be living on a different planet.
No rich person would ever say this. I imagine it must be the poor folk who tell themselves this. Rich people are living it up, going on holidays, riding horses, living in nice neighborhoods, buying bentleys, buying mansions,.... how can anyone be unhappy with filthy amounts of money? Rich people are less stressed and more cheerful than poor people. This isn't even a debate.
For me I choose money over everything. It'd definitely buy me happiness. Nothing is more important.
I think conservatives tell poor people this to keep them happy (not disgruntled) and avoid class warfare.
When I was a kid I lived for some time with rich relatives and was extremely unhappy - when you're a kid, money doesn't bring you the benefits (esp social) it does to an adult.

Don't you just laugh when they go broke? It's hilarious.

The collapsing real estate market put thousands of people out of work in my area and our national economy has not yet recovered. I didn't laugh that much.

My uncle does all these things all the time and he still has 4 million dollars not counting his assets..or business money
I heard something today that reminded me of this thread. They were talking about wealth and what constituted "rich" and while a lot of people want to throw a number on it, it's more than that.
They basically said that how to define rich is as follows. If you can stop going to work tomorrow and be able to maintain you're current lifestyle for the rest of your life, then you're rich.
That, to me, is a good definition of being rich.... Those numbers can be different for different people.....
I have a very middle class lifestyle and I would be happy calling myself rich if I was able to fit the above description.

Heck, I plan on getting rid of 4 of these "current lifestyles" in the next 5-10yrs. That will drastically reduce the money leaving our bank account every year. How do they account for that?
