Sorry, but when you adopt a pet, it is a commitment. I know some people don't understand that, but you can't just love them when it's convenient. Her commitment to her pets was made before the marriage. He walked into the situation knowing full well that there could be issues. End of story.

I guarantee you that if she was forced to get rid of the cat, the marriage would suffer even more than it already has. A true animal lover would never give up their pet and be ok with it - ever.
