How about you actually meet the guy before analyzing every little word he uses?

How old are you?

He's just mixing it up. I know I've always rotated those types of pet names. I have a female associate who I'm on great terms with. I've been keeping a tally of all the pet names she calls me. She's currently at 16, lol. I'm starting to wonder if she has a book that she is pulling them from.

I see pet names as similar to marking territory and creating intimacy affectionately. (and I usually like it )

That, too. Pet names are something like "Shmuppie." They generally aren't adjectives.

Right, they aren't pet names and when I was online dating, it seemed that the guys that were calling me "gorgeous" and "beautiful" before we'd even met were likely doing so because they were calling the other girls they were emailing the same. Its an easy way to not mix up names and be able to send online messages easily without putting any thought or effort into it.

Guys that were actually about something never did that.
