I'm sorry about you losing your King.

That said, having more room for you is very nice as well!

My husband has queen size bed already in his bedroom when I moved in.

Works well for us.

My BF is tall, 6'2", so he has a king, queen is a tad too short. I have a queen at home. But when I'm at his place, he sleeps close to the edge on his side he and doesn't move much, so I have most of the bed. I have the best of both worlds, a queen at my place and virtually the width of a queen-size at his place. Life is good!

When we were on vacation, we've been in a double (or full) and it's nice and cozy… good alternative only once in a while.

The late spouse and I had a double bed, first because it was all that would fit, and then because we liked it.

The times we stayed in hotels with a king sized bed, I'd wake up in the middle of the night and wonder: Where is he??? LOL

They sleep right up against you no matter how big the bed is.

My female cat would hop up on the bed, look pointedly at the space between my husband and me, and meow until we moved far enough apart for her to squeeze in between us.
