I wish I had more time to play video games. The only ine that hasnt collected dust has been mario u, that I play with the family.
Actually, that's a good point. But since I have a successful career and marriage, sail, ride bikes, raise three kids, coach lacrosse, and have a couple of novels out there with agents, it's not the same thing. Because I'm not on CD for hours upon hours at a time, like you avid video gamers. Typically ten minutes will do it.

I've already scheduled a day off when that game drops.

That being said, there are plenty of men out there who chucked those timewasters after a couple of years of puberty and got on with the business of being men. So to call it the Demise of Guys is way too much of an overstretch.

I'm 23 and I play video games more than a few times a month.

Please don't question my manhood. Have a _/. Actually have a few _/ _/ _/.

I don't get how loving gaming means no life. I don't game myself, but I know many, many people who game regularly, who also have successful careers, loving families and tons of interests.

I think the image of the creepy guy downstairs in the basement with his PS4 or whatever is kind of outmoded and overused. I mean come on.

Why are people so threatened by other people having fun?

I'm thinking it's a question of maturity. Given that you're trying to actually trying to threaten me on a message board kind of makes my point, don't you think?

Way to jump to extremes video games are no where near in the running of coke and alcoholics. In fact many famous writers of the books you enjoy so much were high-functioning coke addicts and alcoholics.

So please continues with the sanctimony but don't expect everyone to swallow all that self gratification.

Shucks. I know several guys like that from high school. It's like they've never left adolescence.

So there you have it. You know several guys like that. They exist, certainly. All kinds of people exist.

But not all kinds of people who game are like that.

I personally don't know anyone who hangs out in his basement 24/7 and games. Maybe a few antisocial 15-year-olds.

Yeah. And those were the exceptions. What's more, how much better could they have been?

Okay, you guys are right. Starring glassy-eyed at a video game screen for hours and hours on end shooting imaginary space aliens and good, valid, and constructive use of your time. I apologize to the gamer community for actually suggesting otherwise.

Um, irony is when something expressed has the opposite effect of the intent. I didn't threaten anyone.
