I have a very attractive mutual friend who I would love to date. We recently agreed to become a "part-time" couple. This means we will do a select few things without actually being a couple. Go to movies, play golf, attend events/weddings, and eat fancy dinners. Anyway, she is actually 3 years older than me, I am 24 (she 27).
She says I am too young for her. I still don't think that is the main reasons she does not want to become official but I cannot be positive. Either way, it got me thinking. How young is too young? I seem to run into the age barrier a lot... Just to put it out there, I am not desperately hoping she "changes" her mind. I am content being single, as is she.
When I was 24, I went out on a date with a 28 year old. She was nice and we got along well, but she told me I was too young. I felt it was pretty apparent that we were at different points in our lives.
I think it just depends where you're at and how they view it.. not so much just your age. There are a lot of immature 28 year olds out there, who would probably be better suited for a 21 year old guy. The ones who act like they're 28-30 probably should stay with someone in their age bracket.

What kind of arrangement is that? Does it include physical contact?

Obviously for her, a few years is too young. Personally, I've always liked younger guys. Men usually die sooner, so it makes sense to me. The youngest I've dated was 6 years younger and I'd still be fine with that, but ideally he should be no more than 3 years younger. I'm very into a guy right now who is 3 years younger.
I dated one (a HOT one) that was 29 years older than me.
For a year.
Sheesh....I thought 16 and 10 1.5 months was a lot.
Oh well...better then those "little" girls.
