At my age
1. Single mothers
2. Drug addiction
3. Slept with a lot of men
4. Very bad health
5. Obesity

I wouldn't call them damaged goods. But I wouldn't date anyone who had any of the conditions above.

That's the thing, I don't think it makes much difference who considers anyone as damaged goods. The sentiment is without any kind of value and ultimately speaks to the person making the statement.

I love how being a parent is right up there with drug addiction for some. Seriously? Interesting priorities.

And, no, I don't have kids. But if I were interested in someone who had kids from previous marriage or relationship, I'm not really thinking I'd equate it with being a drug addict.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

According to a few of these people, I was born damaged goods since I was born with poor health. So, looks like I'm on par with drug addicts as well.

Even though I don't date dads I wouldn't put parents generally in the same category as drug addicts. The only exception are those who keep making babies with random people.

Nothing because I would never reduce myself to the level of being crass enough to see people as "goods" in the first place.

Oh, I'm not worried. I'm not single, or a single parent looking to date, and if I were, I wouldn't be looking to date these guys.

At the rate things are going, I'm not in any danger of there being a next guy. However, I did consider that when I designed it. To anyone else, it would just be a tattoo of a lily. His initials (J R)-done in cursive-would be the bow on the stem of the flower. Hard to describe the initials-but on paper it works how I want it to.

As for memories, they do fade. And knowing that, I started a blog not long after he died to preserve them in a way that was actually legible, though the blog has evolved into whatever I'm in the mood to yammer on about.
