Actually, I like it when people pick on my grammar. I do not wish to be the person that bastardizes the English language.

A statement like that makes you sound like a big jerk, sorry.
Actually, I have no problem turning around, it's just that I get internally disappointed because I do wish to walk further.

Well, since you are aware that your definition of 'long walk' may be different than another person's definition you could clarify before you head out?

THK: Wanna go for a long walk on the beach?
HKL: That sounds great!
THK: When I say long, I really mean long though - 4 or 5 hours.
HKL: Oh. Maybe not.

Situation averted.

Fair enough but I don't consider one instance to be bastardizing the language. The language has already reached the point of no return when it comes to bastardization. It happened long before you started this thread.

Then pick her up and carry her! How does that "one set of footprints in the sand" poem go? Anyone remember?

I wandered around for maybe an hour on my date last night and I think both of us were about done by that time. I mean...you're not facing each other and it can be difficult to hear each other on a beach if it's any type of windy. I'd rather go on a short walk then park my behind on a blanket and watch the ocean.

Also, your OP is the textbook definition of a humblebrag. It's not attractive in the least bit.
I do not brag about these sort of thing in the overworld, but this is was something I wished to rant about since what I consider long and what other people consider long appear to be mismatched

Hmm, never thought of that, I ought to try this one time, though I'd have to train for it...

I am not going to cancel a date because a woman wouldn't want to walk that long. It's just sometimes I have this desire to keep going...

That's a good one VX! I actually could here the song when I read that.

Then give her a hug, send her on her way and continue walking.
