We are going to the movies after we get out of work. The movie we chose starts soon after our shift ends. Is it ok to go in our uniforms, which is just a black polo and black pants?
I thought you were asking if being in your work uniform would be appropriate attire in your date's eyes, but if you're both in uniform then why not? Unless the company you work for has something against it...
To me it depends on whether it's a first date or an established person? I think it's a nice gesture if someone is treating you to make even a small effort for them. It seems like it would be easy to just bring a nicer shirt, and put it on in the bathroom before you leave (heck, I've changed in my car many times, lol) Add a little jewelery too if you want. Then you'll be ready in minutes but won't look like you are still at work.
I would change shirts if the work shirt has the company name on it. My work uniform doesn't look too bad, but I don't really want to wear it unless I have to.
