Does your SO have a fetish? Is it a deal breaker if you found out your SO has a fetish?
Everyone has a fetish.

I enjoy a little light bondage. Luckily my sugar baby likes being tied up! Usually if we do this I just tie her wrists to her ankles. We don't get into the crazy stuff. And it needs to be done with something soft and sexy like silk ties.

I used to have this weird anti-fetish where I found feet to be a turn off. But she has such pretty feet that I've actually developed a bit of a foot fetish now. She's a model and has this one photo with her feet up in the air behind her as she's kneeling on a bed - it is a sexy photo but not porn. It was so damned sexy that my foot anti-fetish disappeared in a moment. Strange!

I'll just say I'm somewhat naturally submissive around females in certain situations and I really dig larger, dominant women. Goddess worship, you know.

Didn't know that a thread like this existed. Thought it would be prohibited on C-D. But okay, I'll take a bash and I think I'll be among the weirdest in here. My fetish is a guy's breath (no, not bad breath) - Just the way it sounds and feels on my skin, and when he blows or exhales. Gets me all tingly. Provided it's a man I find attractive. Smoking is also kinda hot (like "dirty hot" if you will), but I think that this stems from my breath fetish.

P.S. Not sure why y'all are saying butts, curves, boobs, etc. These are still sexual traits, somewhat. So they're not really "fetishes". A fetish is something that is completely non-sexual (kinda like my fetish).

Spoiler

What an odd thread to revive. And a perilous one.

Definition of what "fetish" means really varies depending on who you ask. It varies a LOT. The old view of sexual deviance as a pathology, a mental illness, would describe this as similar to addiction, something that interferes with normal sexual functioning to a point where the person CANNOT enjoy sex without it. When we look at addiction for instance and the difference between a REAL addict, and someone who might declaim, "I'm addicted to chocolate" (when they are not, they just really love it)... The criteria include not only the fixation, but the fact that it brings dysfunction, and element of compulsion that overpowers the will. You want to stop, but you can't. At this point I actually think that this definition of fetishism, is most commonly seen in men who are so acclimated to porn that they cannot have a "normal" partnered sex life. I have known a few.

That is the clinical answer, but then of course, I'm part of a self-described fetish community, where the vast majority of participants are not acting upon an unhealthy sort of compulsion or addiction or paraphilia. They (well, we) are perfectly capable of enjoying "normal" sex, it's just the way we see it...why? When we can have so much more on the menu? In fact food analogies (if not food fetishes) are apt, in saying it is much more like a person who is able to exist on food they consider to be bland and boring, but if able to dine on delicacies, will certainly do so. That's what it's like to be part of that community. Including very much the fact that inevitably someone in the room is going to be eating (metaphorically) something that you don't have a taste for, and you are not going to be allowed to be rude about that. "Your kink is not my kink and that's OK" to use the simplest form of the oft-repeated saying. But to be honest, a ton of what we get up to at our parties and events is not very sexual at all. Certainly some of it is, but it's a gross oversimplification to see sexuality as the entire point. There are many activities that are more about other sensations, or something else like performance art. I like to set my naked friends on actual fire at parties. Not because it turns me on, but because it's flashy and it's fun. I could say that I'm being an exhibitionist and enjoying the attention, and that's true, but it still is not exactly sexual for me.

Although, in all fairness, so long as the exhibitionist/voyeur relationship is 100% consensual, that IS something I would consider to be one of several of my favorite exotic dishes, that I like to spice up my diet with now and then. (The consent part is hugely important to me, though...so at an adult event where others expect to see things, sure...in a car or in a park or a public elevator, theater or restroom? Never.)

Of course, on a certain adult site where people get to list out our fetishes, we can and do get very silly with that. I think I've got Ace Hardware on my fetish list, for instance. That is...mostly...a joke.

It's a shame this thread was not reported back in 2013 when it was first opened. I just finished deleting over 100 inappropriate, off-topic and orphaned posts. Because most of the CDR regulars can't seem to discuss this topic as mature adults, the thread is now closed.
