With online dating, I have found that having the first meetup (I don't think of it as a 'date') during lunch break from work is a good way to avoid the ironclad assumption that I will put out at first meeting.

::sigh::

If you happen to work within 5 minutes of each other and you each have a full hour or more for lunch on the same day, sure. How often does that happen, though?

No, it's a good thing. That's so you can get in and out fast, if it's a train wreck. Hit-and-run dating.

I gotta say, OP, this is a fun thread. Good job.

Why's it easier to get away in the morning or afternoon than at night?

Because you have a built-in excuse; you have to go to work. Once you're off work at the end of the day, your time is more open-ended.
