Please do not categorize all women with the OP. Your Aussie gf is not much different than many American women or other women around the world. As you can see by the responses to the OP, many of which are American women, we do not think like her.
Many women will settle, which I refuse to do so. If more people refused to settle we would see a different society.
I didn't put widowers in the same category at all, just said I might be jealous of their wife if I married them. That is understandable because their wife might have been their dream woman and how do I compete with that?

Why because I stated a fact? widowers often put their deceased wife on a pedestal, this is a fact. I wouldn't be comfortable in a situation where they talk about how much they loved their wife.
