Could you date or consider a LTR with someone who absolutely could not sleep with someone else in the same bed? Someone who at the end of the night would either go to their own place, or relocate to another room.

I rarely sleep in the same bed with my husband because he is gone a lot for work so not an issue with me, I am used to sleeping alone. Well, not completely alone, sometimes I have critters who get cold and join me.

Yes.

Make passionate love, cuddle for a while after sex, then have a good night sleep in separate beds. I think this is the best arrangement.

It's no different than sleeping on a king bed and staying on your side of the mattress.

I think you just described half of all marriages after 10 years. lol

Seriously it's not a big deal in some cultures. Or if one partner is a snorer or is obese and rattles the bed whenever they toss and turn

Tried that. Still doesn't work. Any movement whatsoever wakes me up. I feel bad kicking people out at the end of the night or telling them to sleep on the couch, especially after years of dating, but otherwise I can't sleep.

Doesn't bother me. It's better than when he kicks me in his sleep. Actually, now that you say it...

Yes, I could. I'd have no problem with that.

My ex-bf snored something awful & I apparently kick in my sleep.
Neither of us were well-rested when sharing bed for sleeping-the "usual"/normal set up.
So, it's fine by me to be together when awake & part for bed/wherever, to actually get some restorative Zs.

It's also an issue if/when two people have differing hours,
in that scenario it would be good to have separate sleeping areas,
so both people can follow their respective schedules.

You mean with someone else like in a threesome (as in me, someone, and someone else)? I'll have to think about that.
