youre awfully judgmental. what if you found out your best friend stripped in college to pay tuition? or someone in church was a call girl before she was "saved". or someone worked at an 'adult bookstore' for a few years to help pay bills.

who cares? i dont care what my friends, neighbors, or acquaintances have done/where theyve worked in their past. my sister in law was an escort. big deal. doesnt mean i agree with it, just means I am not condemning someone for their choices.
My family I know they do not.

I am judgemental. Any opinion anyone has is a judgement. And I don't apologize for it. It is my right to choose the people in my life. And I choose not to get involved with strippers. Period.

Are escorts prostitutes? If so, i choose not to get involved with escorts too.

People just have different set of values that is all. I am a divorcee... some men dont like women who are divorced and I accept it and do not take it personally. It is the same.
Reread my post I said the friend was ONCE a stripper. If up until this moment you had been happily unaware of this fact would you still be their friend?

If they are not doing anymore, maybe. most likely not.

If it is a member of my family, I would work 2 jobs just to help them financially to get an education and do something that would make them proud.

See, stripping is awesome because it helps you weed out the close-minded folk/ignorant people who I would choose not to associate with regardless of my occupation at the time

My only point is does any person that you know wants their daughters to become strippers? I mean COME ON.... really?

I would not (don't have kids) but I do have sisters, nieces, friends and my dreams for them do not involve the pole or taking their clothes for money. I know it sounds harsh but that is my opinion. That is all
But see, that's where I disagree. First off, you don't have children. Using the argument of "Would you want your daughters to be strippers" rings false, because you cannot know what it is like to wish that on someone unless you HAVE children.

It doesn't sound harsh - it just sounds like what you say it is - your opinion. But you're using your opinion as a battering ram in this thread. To me, using such a hollow argument is a waste of your time and ours.

I've been in the "adult entertainment" industry for a while...yes, I've met some unsavory characters, but I've also met some saints. So I've re-learned a lesson that I learned long ago - you can't judge a person by what they do for money.

My personal weakness is "money people" - those who work at "managing" your money, whether through the stock market or through "financial management" work. I don't like them. I also don't like politicians, as a group.

But I also recognize that there MUST be some that are of a good heart; that they are in the game for altruistic reasons. Maybe it's because I'm an old man, who has had the opportunity to re-learn so many lessons, but I've learned one important lesson in life - don't judge a book by it's cover.

I do not know what a battering ram is sorry. I decide to leave this thread. I just believe as women we are so valuable. We are human beings.

I dont have kids but I do have nieces and nephews, they are beautiful and it would break my heart to see to them do that. But, not everyone is so lucky to have so many people that love them and care for them. I dream of all the girls in my life to feel proud of what they do and whether people like or not, my opinion is very mainstream.

So if people is happy with their choices.... who cares about what society says, although I suspect they do because otherwise they would not feel offended when I write stripping is an awful choice. AWFUL.

Sorry again. Good nite.

Don't be sorry - you are entitled to your opinion.

It's just that, especially on an online forum, there's an expectation of support of opinion - that you have actual experience in the subject you're discussing. It's cruel, but that's life.

I wish you well in your endeavors.

I had lunch this weekend with a close friend of mine who is a stripper (no, we didnt' meet in a strip club...we've known each other since we were teens). She loves it and doesn't care what anyone else thinks about it. She's 37 years old, has no kids, has no desire to settle down, very attractive, and wants to keep doing it until she's no longer physically able to do it. She's made a ton of money doing it and has saved most of it. Although stripping isn't my thing, I have to commend her for living the kind of life that she wants and not caring about what other people might think. She's very intelligent, well-spoken, and a well-adjusted human being. She doesn't dress like a stripper in public (she wore a long-sleeve shirt and pants when we hung out). She's not promiscuous. And any guy who wants to go out with her, she tells them about her lifestyle so that they know up front what she's all about and don't try to change her. This admittedly DOES scare off some guys, but others are able to embrace her stripper side without worrying about what other people would think.

I think a lot of people are under the impression that strippers have some type of disease because of their chosen profession. However, not all strippers have sex 24/7 and with strangers they barely even know.
