Some poster described himself as a Venus Fly Trap today, in terms of his way of attracting women.
My analogy to this whole dating thing is that dating is digging for gold. You must dig through a lot of rock to find the gold vein. Once you do, you strike it rich!
...Okay my analogy probably doesn't sound very politically correct either.
I think life is like this song. Some people say every bad relationship just prepares you for finding the right one. I think that's Buddhist. Or something.
I hope you understand that you don't go and "find" a soulmate, they just come along in your life. This isn't like ordering take out, you can't stop at Panda Express and get an order of Lo Mein and "A soulmate to go please".
You have to learn how to just live life and let it happen, you can't force someone to like you, you can't force someone to love you and you cannot force a soulmate to come into your life, it just happens.

When you find a soulmate, it's looks like a miracle, like an unexpected event. But actually no one unexpected event isn't unexpected. Actually your way of life and every step determines your present and your future. So, you right! And you have to know where to dig.

I'm surprised that nobody made a joke about the dating and digging for gold analogy yet. You know, gold diggers seeking for a victim and that stuff
calling woman whores & liars may not be the best approach... or analogy
i think people/personalities, are like pieces to a jigsaw puzzle, if most of the pieces fit together without forcing it,,and you can make out the big picture, then you have a pretty good fit.
we are simple, yet very complex creatures, we can meet someone, and have fireworks at the beginning, the tough part is, what are you willing to compromise after the intial stage-
many pull back, tone things down, because of the fear of the unknown, because of past experiences
we like comfort and security.... and most are willing to be single, than to expose themselves, be vulnerable, take risks,,,only to (maybe) get burnt again.
soul mates may be out there,,,but you have to have two givers, wanting whats best for the other, best for both-once you have a "taker" (me me me me) then you have serious problems

I have never liked the analogy of gold diggers seeking victims. Actual gold digging and mining is hard work.
