Coming from the age thread this popped up and I thought it would be be a light and interesting poll question. Would you romantically date Sean Connery?

Heh, that was me.

He's hawt, but I would not date him because:

- he is ridiculously old for me

- he is in a profession generally populated by folks with personalities incompatible with mine -- extroverted, narcissistic, insecure, etc. I don't know if any of this applies to him, though.

- like most women, I choose my mates primarily by smell. Looks and not needing me to pay his cell phone bill are nice, but if he does not smell biocompatible than there is nothing gonna happen.

Plus, there is the distinction between an actor and the roles he plays . For all I know, Mr Connery may not be brilliant, witty, quiet, intellectual, and suave, IRL.

Have you ever seen Kevin Costner interviewed? The man can hardly string three words together. He is almost unable to speak in conversation. I dunno if this is a form of AS or what. Not stupid, though . An interviewer asked him why he thought so many viewers were hot for him. He paused, and said, 'I think it's the words. The words they give me, the lines.'

Oh my gosh, that so reminds me of Roxanne! Steve Martin is feeding the lines to the young hunk (Rick Rossovich) to get Roxanne to like him, and he talks about the words...but the guy hears "worms"...she's like wth with worms?

Anyway, I try not to watch too many talk shows or interviews (although they ARE interesting) because I don't want the idea and image I have of an actor to actually be ruined by being a douche waffle in real life. I'd prefer to watch a movie and get into the role they're portraying...without wondering if he is a dirt bag in real life.

So, yes, I might date Mr. Connery (if a few factors were different) but I'd definitely have to get to know him first. He is rather old now, but he was extremely handsome for a good long time!!

I would never date him purely for this reason alone;

Pierce Brosnan? He had to have a double every time he got up out of chair.

No I wouldn't. He's older than my parents and slaps women.

Hell, I'm a straight guy and I'd date Sean Connery, if for no other reason than to tell people I dated Sean Connery.
