Ask him to join you for lunch, or to go to dinner after work. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If you feel awkward about it, say it's a thank-you for the chocolates. Get the ball rolling.

Are you leaving just the job or the area as well? Invite him out to lunch...Sit next to, not across from, him to flirt...When he says a joke, touch his leg; lots of smiles and eye contact...Even being a shy guy he'll get the idea you're interested.

You as a guy, would you ask out a lady after many years of knowing her???
Yes.

You will not be working together anymore. You have not one disadvantage here. Just ask him out. If you don't you will always wonder what could have been. Unless you know he is married or in a relationship go for it. This thread is an easy answered one! It sounds like more then one positive change may be coming for you. Now get fired up and go for it all.

Just go up to him run your fingers down his buttons of his shirt. Wink. Then walk away.

LOL. If he's real shy she might scare him though.

I got the impression she's leaving the company where they both work, not necessarily leaving the area. But I could be wrong.

There's a gal that I've known for 20+ years that I find very attractive and whose company I enjoy a great deal but have never made any sort of romantic gestures toward. I need to wait for her husband to die first. Which should be within the next 30 years or so.

This is true. I had shy ones before. Then maybe just talk to him nicely.

I am in the same situation...got a new job and my fellow coworker is being more attentive to me now!!!I just lost all hope....if this guy really wanted a relationship with me he would have tried before and not now!!!why wait until I am almost leaving my job to do so....I'll bee a lady and wont chase him, no pressure no nothing... If he truly likes me he will find a way! So frustrating
