Hi Everyone, I have been dating my girl friend for 7 months. Everything has been so perfect between us. We share the same interests, goals, values, and morals. We are both in college to become teachers. Anyway, she is 7 years older then me. I'm 20, she's 27. I have always acted older. Never had friends my age growing up. Always a few years older. People usually comment and say she's too old for me. In my opinion, if i would break up it would only be because of age. Doesn't that seem kind of ridiculous? 7 years older doesn't seem like that large of a gap...right?

Just looking to see if others have had age gaps when the woman is older and if it worked out.

Yes, it's fine. People who hassle you about it are just insecure.

Honestly, 7 years is not that much. Now, I think it might be a bigger deal since you are both really so young. And if you both want children, that could raise "timeline" issues, if you will.

I don't have a lot of friends who are couples, and most of my friends who are couples are involved with people about their own age. There's one guy who is about a decade older than his wife. I have had contact, however, with a very happily married couple in which the woman is a decade older than the guy.

I believe she was pushing 50 while he was pushing 40. What made for some funny situations was the fact that she is very youthful looking, while he very much looks like his actual age. Years ago, early in their relationship, HE would get dirty looks from people who were assuming he was either dating an underaged girl or just generally robbing the cradle.

She neverminds that she is older. But since my fam and friends been saying things to me about it, it has now made me wonder. I never looked at our age till people started saying things to me. When we first met I thought she was younger, and she thought I was older. We have both dated before, I feel like she could possibly be it.

Isnt the goal in life to be happy? I am when I'm with her. We have done long distance for quite some time and are staying strong.

Hearts change, especially for a young man that's 20. That's all I'm saying.
