Wait. You mean to tell me that whole period thing isn't a myth and that women do get them? You expect me to actually know that about the person I'm married to AND you expect me to help out and buy products designed to help this situation? A situation so common that there is pretty much a whole aisle dedicated to it with no less than 50 options?

I like the comment above about toilet paper. When you buy it you are typically reinforcing the known notion that you in fact poop.

When you buy deodorant you are reinforcing that basic biology can make you a bit stinky at time.

And yes, women do have periods and like many other biological issues that a large group of people deal with there are countless products out there. The hard part isn't having my wife convince me to go (if I'm reluctant it's usually because I just don't want to go to the store ... but I'll do it anyway) - the hard part is finding the right product. However, my wife gives good directions just like she does for makeup remover pads or I do for deodorant I need or something for the odd occasion that my shoes stink or whatever.

Kind of like buying condoms - I don't understand the embarassment people have. Like it's dirty that not only are they having sex, but are taking precautions to prevent disease/pregnancy - the horror! ....... If you can't handle that then you are probably better off not risking procreation and abstaining altogether.

Likewise, if you can't handle a trip to the store to pick up some tampons then that whole marriage thing may not be your bag because there are a lot of things that you need to do that go well beyond a trip to the store.

Then again I've never understood the old social norms about what is "manly" - even within communities that I'm a part of. I use a double edged razor with a whole wet shaving getup. There are some that think that is more manly than using a disposable or modern multi blade system but less manly than a straight edge razor. I don't use it to be more "manly" - I do it because I like the results, like applying technique, like the lower cost of blades and it hits a few different notes for me. I wouldn't derive my self worth as a man or look at how someone else measures as a man simply on how they choose to do an activity which is pretty much a pain in the butt that any non-beard growing man has to do - simply shave ....... but now I'm just ranting

I would never be seen anywhere near... those things

I wouldn't talk about it, any mention of it would result in me changing the subject, any discussion of it would be met with an eww and a shudder and a goodbye

it's disgusting, she can buy her own stuff

I don't make her buy my condoms(that's embarassing enough)

I like tampons that have an applicator. I like the cotton that spreads out like an umbrella.
