My life experience is similar not opposite. Women that most interest in me look like my mother and I’m male version of her. So from physical site. From psychological site look same to me as women that interest are similar in behavior and education. What is yours experience?

My husband and I could not be more opposite with regard to the "little things". For the "big things" (raising kids, money..etc) we are on the same page. Works for us.

Some similar but mostly opposite. I like to call it complementary.

My husband and I often joke that he and I are the male and female version of the same person.

Funny thing is, our personalities are very similar but our INTERESTS differ in many ways (though thankfully some overlap). I'm into artsy stuff, wine, classical music, interior decorating, and he's into sports and outdoorsy stuff, beer, George Strait and working in the yard.

But we find the same things funny, we have similar energy levels, and the same moral values and goals. We both love reading - just different things. We both love music - and have found artists we agree on. We both love football, but different teams.

He taught me what I needed to know in order to enjoy a good baseball game, and I taught him what he needed to know to appreciate a good art museum.

And we both love a romantic date and a couple of dirty martinis!

Personally I prefer more similarity than most people do. I've only been interested romantically in (unusual) people who remind me of myself in some personality traits.

There's ample research on the subject. Typically people end up with partners who look somewhat like they do (including facial features and body type) and have moderate personality similarity.

I agree. For me having some difference can be a healthy balance personality wise. My husband is the more laid back person while I get fiesty in a snap lol

As for looks, I don't think I really ever looked at someone who was similar to me. I'm attracted to whoever I'm attracted to.

Paula Abdul believes opposites attract too

Well it was fun trying to imagine that you were. I did see risky business for the first time the other night, so at least I'll have something relevant to talk about, if 80's pop culture is your fancy
