What do you think about it? My brother kept his girlfriend a secret for 4 years until he brought her to meet my mother.

My mother only knows my son's mother for obvious reasons. Otherwise, officially, I've never had any other girlfriend.

Kind of silly to me but if it makes sense to those involved then why not.
It is no one else's business how you all live your lives.

Yes, they had been living together for more than a year I think when my mother met her.

Re-read it. She's the only one my mother knows, they are actually quite good friends.

Guess that is one way to avoid either A) "you can really do better," or B) "when are you two going to get hitched and have grandkids??"

Who had been living together for more than a year when your Mother met her?
In your original post you said your brother kept his girlfriend a secret for 4 years.
Now I'm confused as to whom has the secret girlfriend, who has the child and who the Mother has met.

Alright I did. So you have a secret girl. So? Many do this so they don't have to explain a failed relationship.
